I’d argue Show Respect might even have to come before Be Human when it comes to social media. We understand that the person doing the content creation and interaction for a business is a role that is more restrictive on their behavior and speech than the role a private party plays online. But no matter how big or small the business, or how restricted and focused the speech may be, being respectful of the other parties in a social conversation should always be at the front of the business user’s mind. My two cents anyways? I’d rather a respectful automaton than a disrespectful person talk at me from the internet

I’ve noticed that Redditors are sorta like Mac devotees — true believers. I use it as a backlink tool and don’t get many votes but to go viral you need to live on the site 24/7 and participate.

This is nicely written, thoughtful post. I am conflicted. One of the things I loved about a more open search – “unprejudiced” results – for me – the more customized results – the more narrow the “world wide web” becomes..

I’m also the kind of person that is not so easily influenced by what my friends think…

So hum…to me it feels the world is narrowing…taking away one of things I loved about a web search…
