<description>I have been using an online site off and on for a couple of years now. I first used the Tavern as a site for giving messages as a channel but after a while it became a little overwhelming. I couldnt keep up with all the mails. I would do it again but need to have my own limits I guess. I had some precious moments with people and even met one from the us who was visiting NZ.

Now I use Tagged and Facebook. I like Tagged because I can put up pictures and decorate it as I wish as well as putting my own pics etc, can use as a safe message board without giving out my address, and have met some really interesting and genuine people with similar interests and who I hope to visit one day. These include a friend in Alaska who has shared generously of her family life. I havent made much of my private life available to people on there because of the wierdos that come in occasionally. That was because I left my profile open so people could see who I was to contact me. When I want a break from weeding them out I make it private.

I use facebook as a way to keep in touch with family and friends. I have deleted quite a few contacts because unlike others I dont wish to just collect people but just those ones I wish to interact with. My computer is my doorway to the world and I use it as a tool to meet with other like minded souls. I am very isolated in my real life so consider this an essential to my well being. I have met many contacts for healing as well and also do that long distance. It really has been an interesting journey that will continue for me.

I also have met someone I talk with daily on the other side of the world who has become very important to me and we share intimately about our daily lives and offer each other support. I hope one day we will have an opportunity to meet and Im sure if we get on as well in real life as we do online then we will be friends for life. Im grateful for the social networking sites.

I would encourage anyone who has time to explore the different avenues available on the net. Its thanks to Karen that I got involved in the first place - and thanks to her again that I am writing in a blog for the first time.
